    • Appointments with the nurse (flu shots, covid shots)

There will be a cap set on the number of consultations that we will privately charge you in a calendar year (January to December). This cap has been currently been set at 10. If you have been billed for 10 consultations, we will bulk bill the rest of your visits for that year.

Note: Bulk billed Patients may still be charged for non-government funded vaccines, non-Medicare rebate appointments, “no show” appointments and disposable surgical tools.

If you are eligible for a health care concession card or DVA card, please ensure that we have your updated card details. Concession and Health Cards – https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/concession-and-health-care-cards

As of 1st August 2022 – Out-of-pocket (gap) expenses will apply for onsite appointments.

Note: Additional charges may apply for non-government funded vaccines and disposable surgical tools. Your GP will inform you of any additional fees that may apply.

Payment must be made at the time of the consultation via credit/debit card.  To receive your Medicare rebate, we are able to process this on the spot for you directly to your debit card or we can provide a receipt for you to claim yourself with Medicare.  If, at any time, your circumstances change or you are suffering financial hardship, please don’t hesitate to discuss your fees with your GP.

If Medicare rejects a payment claim, please notify our reception staff to help sort this out.

If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it.  Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the practice manager. You may prefer to write to us. We take your concern, suggestions and complaints seriously.

Our practice manager can be contacted at reception@mortlakemedical.com.au.

Be aware that some emails can be filtered out as spam so please contact our reception desk if you have not heard anything within 2 days. We will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.
